Tibet Tour offers you to explore its most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple is the bustling Barkhor Market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. Later in the day visit the Potala Palace, this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. The 5th Dalai Lama expanded it to its present structure during the 17th century. This 13 story 1000 room citadel served as the headquarters of the former "Monastic-state" of Tibet and was home to successive Dalai Lamas, who from the latter half of the 18th century used it as their winter palace.

    Day 01: KATHMANDU - LHASA
    In the morning you will be transferred to the Kathmandu airport to depart on your 1hr and 10 min flight to Lhasa. This flight will be excluded if you arrive Lhasa from other destination. While you land at Lhasa Airport, our representative will welcome you and help to transfer to your hotel in Lhasa. Please note that the distance between Lhasa Airport and Lhasa is 93 km and takes about 2 hours, a very scenic drive. Evening orientation of the program. Overnight at Lhasa hotel

    Day 02: Sightseeing tour to Drepung/Norbulinka
    In the morning we will have a guided tour to the largest monastery in Tibet, Drepung monastery. In the afternoon we will visit Norbulingkha which means beautiful gardens in Tibetan.

    Day 03: SIGHTSEEING tour to POTALA PALACE / SERA / JOKHANG TEMPLE & BARKHOR
    This day we will visit the Potala Palace in the morning one of the most famous architectural works of Tibet and after that we will visit Sera monastery and continue to the Jokhang Templ, Tibet’s holiest temple which contains a jeweled image of the Buddha. After that we will roam the Barkhor Square, an old market square where you’ll see wily Chinese and ancient Tibetans bargaining for goods.

    Day 04: LHASA - GYANTSE (3950m)
    After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel you will drive an approximate 8 hrs towards Gyantse. After passing the beautiful Lhasa valley and crossing the Brahmaputra River (The holy River), you will pass the Kamba la pass (4794 m) to the south. On the way you see Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake) which will take an hour to drive around. You will go over the Karo la pass (5010 m), that climbs between two lofty mountains Nozing Khang Sa (7223 m) and Ralung (6236 m), and will reach Gyantse. You will stay Overnight at Gyantse hotel

    Day 05: GYANTSE - SHIGATSE (3900 M) - 90kms
    In the morning you will have a guided tour to the Palchor Choede Monastery including the Kumbum and at noon you will drive to Shigatse , en route, we will stop at local farm-lands to visit locals and explore how locals live their daily life, working on their farm-lands. Upon arrival in Shigatse, we will have a guided tour at the Tashilhunpo Monastery , the seat of the Panchen Lama and visit the local traditional market.

    Day 06: SHIGATSE- XEGAR
    You will be heading towards the town of Xegar , which is also called the gateway to Mt. Everest. Beyond the small town of Lhatse you cross the two highest passes on our journey, the Gyula and Gyatsola. From here you will descend to the plains, passing lonely monasteries and the camps of nomadic herders, en-route to Xegar. The drive is approximately 8 hours to Xegar.

    Day: 07 XEGAR / Zhang Mu
    On the way to Zhangmu you will cross the Lalung la Pass (5050m) and Nyalamu Pass (3800m) which is decorated with multicolored prayer flags fluttering in the wind. This drive offers fantastic view of high mountains including Mt. Langtang (7245 m), Mt. Xixapangma (8013 m), Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6980 m), Mt. Makalu (8464 m), Mt. Everest (8848 m), Mt.Lotse (8501 m), Mt. Cho oyu (8200 m). Along the zigzag road we will drive down to Nyalam (3.600 m) gradually and leave the landscape of the high plateau behind us and see the Himalayas covered in the sea of clouds and reach Zhangmu.

    Day 08: ZHANGMU- KATHMANDU
    After breakfast, you will drive from Zhang Mu to the Kodari Border (Nepal China Friendship Bridge) where our representative is waiting you to take back to you Kathmandu. You will have lunch at Dhulikhel. Along the route we will see the beautiful deep valley of Bhote Koshi River with lots of waterfalls.
